What is Rumber™?

The term “Rumber™” is a trademarked word representing the transition to rumber from lumber ; hence, “ Rumber™”. Using a patented process, we recycle scrap rubber, used tires and plastics into three basic forms: extrusions, sheet goods and formed products. Each form uses a different ratio of rubber-to-plastic content; the 3 forms share the characteristic of being made from 100% recycled feedstock.

• The first form Rumber™ is produced in an extrusion. Extrusions are lengths and planks of various shapes, widths and thicknesses. Extrusions are typically 60% recycled rubber content and 40% recycled plastic content. The various Rumber extrusions are sold and installed by the lineal foot and commonly replace wood planks on trailers, drilling platforms, commercial truck beds and just about application wooden planks are traditionally used.

• The second form Rumber™ is produced in sheet form. “Sheet Goods” refers to the same Rumber™ as extrusions but with a different recycled rubber plastic content. Recycled rubber content...about 5% and 95% recycled plastic. The extrusions are allowed to cool into 4'x 8' sheets and range in thickness from 1/16” to 3/8”. The sheets yield greater resistance to impact and thermal extremes than traditional plywood. There are many applications for Rumber™ sheets. Among the applications they are used to line horse trailers, cattle chutes, the walls of cargo vans and virtually every place where maximum protection and durability is required.

• The third form of Rumber™ is produced as “Formed Products”. Formed Products come out of a mold as semi-finished products. Examples of Rumber™ Formed Products are chain boxes, saddle racks, bridle & utility racks, etc.

In every form, Rumber™ is environmentally sound. The product and process makes use of discarded materials and helps clean up the Earth's landfills. In addition, every application of Rumber™ decreases dependence on the earth's tropical rainforests hardwoods and natural forests. Preservation of the world's forests has a direct, positive impact on global warming.

Every piece of Rumber™, whether long or short, narrow or wide, thick or thin, shares the same qualities that make Rumber™ a unique product. Our planks, sheets and formed products do NO T absorb oil, water, chemicals, ultraviolet rays, animal feces or urine. They absolutely resist cracking, rotting or splitting. Any piece of Rumber™ will cushion a payload of materials or animals and provide extra traction where needed. Because of its sound-deadening quality and splinter resistance, Rumber™ provides significant safety benefits to personnel who work on or around it.
